Amazon Prime Video is now available on Xbox One in Canada

Xbox One S

Amazon Prime Video is now available on the Xbox One family of devices in Canada, just in time for the release of the HDR 4K capable Xbox One X on November 7th, 2017.

The U.S. retail giant’s video platform launched in Canada, as well as 200 regions around the world, last December. Prime subscriptions are priced at $79.99 and the first month is free for all users with the exception of Quebec. While Prime Video’s selection of content is not robust as Netflix, Amazon positions the service as an added value proposition because Prime subscriptions also give users access to free same-day shipping and a variety of other perks.

Prime is now available in Canada on Android, iOS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox One S and select LG/Samsung smart televisions. The streaming video platform still hasn’t launched on the Apple TV in Canada, though it has been confirmed that Amazon prime Video is set to arrive before the end of 2017.

It’s unclear if Amazon Prime Video is 4K/HDR compatible on the Xbox One S and Xbox One X, though MobileSyrup has reached out to Amazon for confirmation.
