Pre-orders for Fitbit’s upcoming Blaze smartwatch and fitness wearable are live on Best Buy’s Canadian website, with a March 11th release date, at a price point of $249.99 CAD.
The Blaze is listed with a vague March shipping shipping date on Fitbit’s Canadian online store, though it’s likely the wearable will launch on the 11th there as well.
Fitbit’s new smartwatch was revealed at CES 2016 to a mixed reception, with some observers citing its angular design as a good thing, while others said they felt the company should stick to what it’s known for, fitness-focused wearables. Investors, on the other hand, have pummelled the company’s stock since its reveal; Fitbit is down 183 percent since its August highs.
The Fitbit Blaze features customizable band, casing and the ability to receive notifications from a smartphone like texts, calls and calendar updates. It utilizes a proprietary operating system designed by Fitbit rather than Android Wear, and features a 31.75mm colour display.
