The OnePlus 2 will feature a new and improved invite system, smartphone manufacturer OnePlus announced today.
“Some people thought it was too difficult and time consuming to obtain an invite or thought it was all some big marketing stunt,” says the company of its previous system. “With the OnePlus 2, we’ve taken this feedback to heart and are introducing a few key improvements to the purchase experience.”
Among one of the main improvements to this year’s system is that a significantly higher number of invites will be sent out. According to the company, 30 to 50 times as many invites will be sent out as compared to last year. “This means that it will be significantly easier to get an invite from the very beginning,” says OnePlus. This also means there will be much more inventory of the product when it becomes available.
Last year’s convoluted reservation list will also be simplified. This time around, interested parties will only need to provide an email address to get their chance at an invite. However, active users of OnePlus’s forum will still receive priority when it comes to invites.
Lastly, invites that can be shared with friends and family will arrive faster, says the company.
No word yet when the company will start accepting reservations, but the phone will be officially revealed on July 27th with a special virtual reality presentation.
