Sony Xperia Z3 Compact will be a carrier exclusive with Bell, coming unlocked to Sony Stores [Update]

Sony has found a home for its 4.6-inch Xperia Z3 Compact: Bell Mobility. The company that launched the Xperia Z2 earlier this year will be the only Canadian carrier to offer the diminutive flagship, though the device will be also sold unlocked at Sony Stores for $599.99.

The device, like the larger Xperia Z3, will be available on October 31st, and those who buy it from Bell before November 15th will get a free copy of the PS4 game, Driveclub.

To review, the Xperia Z3 Compact offers many of the benefits of the larger Z3 including a 2.5Ghz Snapdragon 801 chip, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, waterproofing and dust protection, a 20.7MP ExmorRS sensor and wide-angle 25mm G Lens, Android 4.4.4 KitKat and PS4 Remote Play support.

The Xperia Z3 Compact has a smaller 4.6-inch 720p display versus the Xperia Z3’s larger 5.2-inch 1080p panel, and 2GB of RAM to the Z3’s 3GB, but is otherwise unmodified. Sony is touting it as a one-handed device, and at 127mm high and only 8.6mm tall, it gives the original Moto X a run for its money.

We’ll have more on carrier pricing in the coming days. Note the links below haven’t been updated yet.

Update: According to Bell’s Xperia Z3 Compact landing page source, the carrier will charge $699.95 for the Xperia Z3 Compact off-contract. No word on 2-year term pricing.
