The new Moto G will be available unlocked at Staples sometime in October for $249. This will be followed by a launch on WIND Mobile later this year for an undisclosed price.
The company debuted the updated 5-inch Moto G at the same event as the new Moto X earlier in September. Though the device lacks LTE, it features an upgraded 5-inch 720p screen, dual front-facing speakers and an improved 8MP camera. Unfortunately, the model being sold in Canada will only have 8GB of storage, but will come with a microSD slot.
Full specs: 5-inch 720p LCD display, 1.4Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chip, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 2070mAh battery, Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
The new Moto G isn’t quite the improvement over the original as many would like, but its $249 price point is pretty difficult to beat.
We’ll have more on specific availability in the coming weeks.
