Square has been helping Canadian business owners simplify payments for nearly two years, and now the company is looking to expand the scope of its Square Register service with the addition of support for accounting and inventory software.
This week, Square announced that Canadian business users now have access to accounting software QuickBooks Online and Xero, as well as inventory management software Stitch. This new integration with Square will allow users to sync sales and inventory data in real time, cutting down on time wasted on inputting sales or tracking inventory. The news follows the addition of online invoicing to Square Canada in July.
“Being able to work with Square and QuickBooks Online allows me to sync my data with just one click, saving me valuable time I can now spend on making more sales,” Edina Beeby from Vancouver-based GumChucks Canada, said. “Working with Square has always been easy and just got even easier.”
Square launched in Canada in October of 2012 and processed more than $100 million in credit card payment in its first year of availability. Back in January, the company announced that it would remove holds and deposit limits for Canadian users accepting credit card payments over the phone.
