Quick update for thousands of RBC customers who bank via their Android app. While the “RBC Mobile App” is only currently compatible for Android smartphones running OS 2.1 and up, coming later this month will be support for Android tablets running Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean.
The RBC support team has stated in a customer inquiry that “Android tablets run OS 4.0 or higher, which we currently don’t support. However, there is some really good news in store for the month of April. We are updating to have 4.0 and 4.1 supported, therefore if you are running one of these 2 OS on your tablet, you will be able to download the app.”
So if you have a tablet running Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean, like the Nexus 7 or Nexus 10, you’ll soon be able to bank on a larger display. In addition, RBC also declared that a Windows Phone app is “currently under development.”
