Acer hasn’t had a huge North American smartphone presence, but Rogers has carried a few of its older devices — specifically the Liquid e and Liquid mtl — but the manufacturer has taken some time off from the difficult handset business lately.
Its previously-leaked CloudMobile device, which will “complete the circuit” of Acer’s burgeoning always-on cloud storage system with its computers and tablets, will be coming to Europe in September for around $450 CAD (€349). So far the company has chosen not to comment on whether they’ll be bringing the 4.3-inch IPS 720p device to Canada, but we’re holding out hope.
The CloudMobile S500 won an IFA Design Award earlier this year, and will come with a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, an 8MP camera and Android 4.0.
