RIM updated the BlackBerry PlayBook to OS 2.0 a couple months back and it looks like another upgrade is on the way. OS 2.1 is currently being tested and recently showed itself on HTML5 browser benchmark tests. The details of PlayBook OS 2.1 features are sparse, but RIM has now updated the online version of the Blackberry Playbook User Manual. Noted in there is PlayBook OS 2.1, specifically with an update to Facebook for the BlackBerry PlayBook.
The Facebook for PlayBook app is currently at version 2.2.1.7 and RIM says that “New with Facebook for BlackBerry PlayBook tablets 2.1, you can now view your Facebook groups, write on a group wall, and upload photos to a group.”
No word of when the upgrade will drop, perhaps something will be announced in May during BlackBerry World 2012.
