The HTC Sensation was the first device to taste a bit of unofficial Android 4.0, but it was running Sense 3.5. Luckily, some enterprising coders have been working with the newly-leaked HTC Endeavor ROM to port it over to existing devices, and the HTC is the first such recipient.
It’s nowhere near daily driver functionality, since many features are broken or buggy, but it gives us a good idea of Sense 4.0 will look like when it debuts in the coming months.
You can see from the (admittedly painful) video that there is a new 3D carousel animation within core HTC apps and some interesting additions overall. While there doesn’t seem to be any mention of the 50GB free Dropbox storage, HTC has added Microsoft Skydrive support to the ROM, for ostensibly sharing documents, photos and music.
The weather/alarm app has been augmented with some cool Google Earth-like animations, and copy-paste has received a nice makeover, too.
Tread lightly if you plan on downloading and installing this ROM onto your Sensation — you will definitely be going back to someone more usable and stable before the day is over.
