TELUS Samsung OMNIA Review (Part 1)

Earlier this week we unboxed the recently launched TELUS Samsung OMNIA.  This is the newest touchscreen device that has a 3.2 inch screen, 5 megapixel camera (with video), comes with Windows Mobile 6.1 and has a whack load of added features such as “Sharepix”… which give you the ability to upload automatically to your favourite socail networking site.

The good thing is that this is priced at a decent $129.99 and you get great value for your money (Give it a couple months and I’m sure we will see a price drop below $100).

We liked how light the OMNIA is, onl 123 grams and felt good in the hand. The resolution of the screen is impressive, and the quality of pictures is clearly evident as it has a stellar 5 megapixel camera. The video capabilities are also good with the sound quality being decent. One thing we did notice is that when we zoomed in during taking a video a “clacking” noise occured that interrupted the sound.

There is so much jammed packed into the OMNIA that we feel one review is not suffice. In our first review you will see we went over the actaual hardware, some key features such as the camera, internet, Share Pix, FM radio, e-mail and how the Opera Mobile browser looks. Over the next few days we will check the battery life and go into more detail about the individual widgets, TV out and other features that make the OMNIA a device to consider. For now, please check out our Part 1 below.

3-year contract: $129.99
2-year contract: $349.99
