A couple months ago Rogers announced the availability to buy concert tickets through their mobile phone with LiveNation called the Wireless Box Office. Now, MTV Canada is working with Rogers Wireless to bring the “Rogers Presents MTV Live at The Concert Hall” series. This is the first of many concerts planned that are exclusive to MTV fans, CTV viewers and Rogers Wireless customers.
The first series, origianlly taped May 15th, will feature Panic at the Disco and Sam Roberts.
Each TV program is 30-minutes and how Rogers Wireless fits in – starting May 23rd – is to give their customers access to select tracks and performance highlights from the concerts.
A microsite has also been created at mtv.ca/concerthall and features artist bios, images, and
videos.
“We’re always looking for multiple ways to provide people with what they want, when they want it,” said Brad Schwartz, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Much MTV Group, CTV Inc. “Partnering with Rogers has enabled us to deliver exclusive A-level music content to fans live in person, on TV, on their phones, online, and on VOD.”
“Rogers Wireless is synonymous with youth and music, offering the latest innovations today’s youth want in mobile music,” says John Boynton, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Wireless. “Our partnership with MTV fits perfectly with our strategy to enable what matters most to youth – their friends and passion for music – by offering the all-access pass to the hottest and latest on multiple platforms.”
