In the latest episode of the SyrupCast, MobileSyrup’s I sat down with gamer editor Brad Shankar to discuss the various interesting things Shankar has been working on, from the latest smart glasses from Meta to the four-hour Elon Musk documentary, and more.
On Sept. 23, Meta held its annual Connect event where it announced several new smart glasses and finally brought the Meta Display glasses to Canada. Shankar provides an excellent rundown of the event, detailing the new VR glasses and audio-only glasses, and we even get into some of the work Meta is doing to address privacy issues.
Shankar also saw the Elon Musk documentary at TIFF, and took some time on the pod to break down the movie. We learned about some of the controversy around it, and what the documentary actually depicts. Plus, Shankar shared some of the other excellent films from TIFF that Canadians should keep an eye out for.
We chatted about a cool new series from TVO Kids that aims to educate children about complex tech topics. Shankar got to go behind the scenes and learn about the making of the show, which premieres Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. on the TVO Kids YouTube channel and on the cable network the following day.
And finally, Shankar and I shared our favourite Canadian video games in honour of his excellent feature about must-play Canadian titles, as shared by various Canadian game makers.
