The news was first reported by Music Business Worldwidewith the updated pricing now being reflected on Apple’s website. Here are the new Canadian prices:

  • Apple Music (Individual) — $11.99/month (previously $10.99/month)
  • Apple Music (Family) — $19.99/month (previously 16.99/month)
  • Apple Music (Student) — $5.99/month (unchanged)

In a statement to Music Business Worldwide, Apple said these price increases are “the result of rising licensing costs.” Apple’s last subscription service price hike came in in October 2022.

Earlier this month, a leak indicated that Apple might be working on a free tier for Apple Music, although it’s unclear if or when that might be introduced.
