Amazon announced that it is bringing its all-new colour Kindle Scribe lineup to Canada, with both the new Kindle Scribe and the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft coming north.

While both devices sport 11-inch screens powered by Oxide display technology, the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft brings a “fluid colour writing experience powered by custom Colorsoft display technology and a new rendering engine.” Amazon notes that the Colorsoft sports an “ultra-thin and lightweight design” and a new quad-core chip that Amazon says leads to “faster writing and page turns.”

Alongside this, Amazon has debuted the redesigned Kindle Scribe. Also sporting an 11-inch screen, it features texture-moulded glass (like the Colorsoft does) and more LEDs for more uniform light, and what Amazon describes as “writing and page turns that are 40% faster than the previous generation.” Similarly to the Colorsoft, it also sports the new quad-core chip.

Kindle is also bringing new productivity tools to the Scribe lineup, including an AI-powered notebook with search and summaries, Quick Notes/Google Drive/OneDrive integration, OneNote compatibility, and a new workspace feature that lets you organize notebooks, books, and documents in one place.

The only caveat is the price. The Kindle Scribe Colorsoft starts at $829.99 for the 32GB model and $899.99 for the 64GB model. The Kindle Scribe starts at $679.99 for the 32GB model and $749.99 for the 64GB model. However, there is a version without a backlight that starts at only $579.99.

Preorders start today, and the devices will start shipping on June 10.
