The most recent Pixel update is causing some issues again. Several reports indicate that Pixel phones are getting stuck in a boot loop after the March 2026 update. This update, Android 16 QPR3, seems to be affecting all devices that could download the update from the Pixel 6 to the Pixel 10 series.
Some users indicate that their phone refuses to turn on, and others say that their device keeps booting back into Recovery mode or shows the boot screen with a Google logo. Reportedly, the warning message says that the ‘Android System’ or data ‘may be corrupt.’ The users whose devices go into Recovery mode can choose to factory reset their phones, but it can cause them to lose their data.

The exact cause of the issue is unclear, and it doesn’t impact everyone. MobileSyrup EIC Jon Lamont’s Pixel 10 Pro hasn’t had any issues with the March update. I’ve updated my device, and so has my mom, and neither phone has been stuck in a bootloop. Though my mom lost access to her dock apps. The concern has been brought to the official Issue Tracker, and the thread shows several people reporting the issue on their handsets.
Some people have been able to start their device by booting it into Safe Mode while keeping the phone plugged in. However, this is just a stopgap that allows users to back up their phone before it goes back into a bootloop.
In the Issue Tracker, Google noted that this problem has been shared with the engineering team, but there isn’t an update yet.
