Google has just revealed the Pixel 10a (pictured above on the right), the latest to join its budget-oriented lineup. However, if you’re interested in the new device but unsure if you should buy this one or its predecessor, take a look at this comparison.
The Pixel 10a costs C$679, which is the same price as the Pixel 9a at launch. On Google’s website, the Pixel 9a still retails at $679; however, if you check out Amazon or Best Buy, the device is available at $529. It’s likely Google will discontinue the Pixel 9a on its website, but there are other retailers as well. You can get the 9a for $150 cheaper than the Pixel 10a at these retailers, and that’s not even getting into deals with carriers, which might get better as they try to clear out old stock.
So, should you pay the extra for Google’s newest budget-friendly phone? Check out the specs below.

The specs for the two devices are incredibly similar. Some differences include that the Pixel 10a has a slightly brighter display and slightly faster charging. The Pixel 10a also has Bluetooth 6.0, is about 3g lighter, and the Pixel 9a lacks satellite SOS.
That’s essentially it. If you have a Pixel 9a, it’s definitely not worth the upgrade. And if you have an even older smartphone, you might wanna purchase the Pixel 9a to save some money. If you want the Pixel 10a for quicker charging or Bluetooth 6.0, maybe it’s worth waiting for a sale.
