Gmail improves summary cards to make it easier to track events, flights and more

These new cards look a lot better with Material Design buttons

Google is rolling out a new update to Gmail to give its summary cards a modern look and more interactive elements.

Summary cards appear in an email when it mentions a calendar event, location, flight or purchases. They sit at the top of your email and try to give you quick access to the important info in your email. As of the time of writing the company is only rolling out the updated summary cards for purchases to help you track packages. The other info on bills, travel and calendar events are coming in the next few months. These updates are only hitting the Gmail mobile apps on iOS and Android for now.

Also over the the next few months, you’ll see a new ‘Happening soon’ dropdown menu at the top of your inbox. It will show you relevant information like any packages that might arrive that day to start. Google plans to roll out more features to this menu in the future.
