If you were hoping for an iPad refresh to appear in October, you’re about to be disappointed.
According to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, Apple’s new Apple Pencil with USB-C comes just ahead of a planned March 2024 iPad. This includes a new version of the base-level iPad, iPad Air and of course, the pint-sized iPad mini.
There’s a possibility the iPad Pro could also get a refresh, but this is less likely and would require Apple to reveal its M3 chip, which could happen if Guman’s report surrounding a new 24-inch iMac and 13-inch MacBook Pro are accurate.
Gurman goes on to say that he expects the 1st-Gen Apple Pencil to be discontinued as soon as the entry-level iPad is refreshed with a USB-C port. This makes sense, given the 1st-Gen, 2nd-Gen, and now new USB-C Apple Pencil all being sold is rather confusing.
