Microsoft says its aware that the latest version of Windows 10 (1803) is causing the operating system to hang and freeze when used alongside apps like Chrome and Cortana.
The company adds it’s working on a fix, which it hopes to deploy on May 8th when it releases the next monthly Windows 10 update.
In the meantime, the company provides two workarounds:
On a computer, press the Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B. Tablet users, meanwhile, should simultaneously press the volume-up and volume-down button three times within two seconds.
If Windows is responsive, a beep will sound and the screen will blink or dim while the operating system attempts to refresh the screen.
Laptop users should close and open their laptop’s lid.
