Pokémon Go’s revamped ‘Nearby’ feature is now available across Canada

Pokemon GO

Pokémon Go’s revamped ‘Nearby’ feature is now available in almost every region of the world where the game is officially available, Niantic, the game’s developer, has announced.

When Pokémon Go launched this past summer, Nearby was one of the game’s core mechanics. Tapping the Nearby heading brought up a pane that, using a one to three steps scale, revealed the proximity of close by Pokémon. However, a bug with the game’s Google Maps integration forced Niantic to disable the feature. It’s now back, though only when players are in the proximity of a Pokéstop.

Niantic began rolling out the new Nearby system in Canada on November 23rd. Initially, the reworked Pokémon finding feature was only available in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the western half of Ontario.
