Rogers Wi-Fi Calling is currently available on iPhones with iOS 9.1 or later and the recently updated-to-Marshmallow launched on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5. According to information on Rogers’ website, the LG G4 is the next smartphone set to receive this feature.
According to the latest revision to the company’s software update schedule, The G4 will be updated to 6.0.1 on June 22. Besides bringing the G4 up to Android 6.0.1, the update will also add the Wi-Fi calling feature.
WiFi calling enables the user to make and receive phone calls, as well as send and receive messages while connected to a WiFi network. Calls, SMS and MMS messages sent this way are deducted from one’s monthly call and text buckets.
