Just in time for the holidays, Facebook is launching a new, easier way for Messenger users to share their photos.
Dubbed Photo Magic, the feature allows users to tag and share their photos within the social network’s mobile chat app. Using Facebook’s new facial recognition technology, which the company launched earlier this year in Australia, the app will automatically tag a photo — much like the company’s mainline mobile and web app.
Afterwards, the app prompts the user to share the photo. If they accept, Messenger will automatically launch a new conversation group involving everyone that was tagged in the photo.
Thankfully, Facebook says it’s possible to turn off this feature for those that may find it a tad creepy. Facebook users use the chat app to send more than 9-billion messages a month, according to the company.
