Following an initial beta test in which only Canadians could send money between one another, BlackBerry has expanded the scope of BBM’s recently added PayPal money transfer system with its latest Android beta.
With the latest test version of the messaging app on Android, users in France, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Spain and the United Kingdom can now also send money to one another. Alternatively, this also means Canadians with friends and family in those nations can send money to them.
To take advantage of this feature, both sender and receiver need to have a valid PayPal account, though the smartphone app itself does not need to be installed.
BlackBerry promises more countries will be added to the service in the near future.
