One day after it published information on when the Note 5 will be unveiled, prolific Samsung leaker SamMobile is once again up to its old tricks. The publication is now reporting that it has seen the near final spec sheet for Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch, the Gear A.
According to SamMobile, the upcoming wearable will feature Samsung’s own Exynos 3472 dual-core processor. Clocked at 1.2GHz, the CPU will be supported by 768 MB of RAM. A 250mAh battery will power the watch, and users will have 4GB of onboard storage to use as they see fit. A special version of Tizen, a Linux distribution supported by Intel and Samsung, will power the watch’s user interface and experience.
As previously revealed by the Gear A’s already released SDK, the smartwatch will feature a circular display with a resolution of 360×360 pixels. SamMobile says it’s not sure how big this display will be, but it does know that it will be Super AMOLED.
In terms of connectivity, the Gear A will come equipped with Bluetooth 4.1, and at least one variant wil support cellular connectivity. Lastly, the wearable will feature a full suite of sensors, including an accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer and heart rate sensor.
SamMobile says the Gear A will be unveiled alongside the Note 5 at an event in New York City on August 12.
