PayPal for iOS updated with Touch ID support

PayPal has updated its iOS app, now at version 5.11.5, and added Touch ID support. This allows users to log into their account by simply using their fingerprint. This means that PayPal users can now log in using a password, pin or TouchID.

On its blog, PayPal says, “using Touch ID with the PayPal app is easy. When you log in to the latest PayPal app on a Touch ID enabled iOS device, you’ll be asked if you want to enable Touch ID. After a quick setup, simply use your fingerprint to log in to your PayPal app to view your account, send money to friends, or access your digital wallet. You will no longer need to log in with your password.”

PayPal, an eBay company, is used by 165 million consumers around the world and has processed over $1 trillion in payments. The company recently announced plans to spinoff from eBay later this year and will list on the NASDAQ under the PYPL ticker.
