It’s been a little over a month since theScore announced the launch of its first eSports app. At the time, theScore promised additional games and regions as well as an iOS version were on the horizon. Today, theScore confirmed the release of a dedicated eSports news and stats app for iPhone and iPad users.
Just like the Android version, the iOS app offers news, live scores, stats, and links to video streams and highlights as well as push notifications so you can receive news as it happens. theScore CEO John Levy said the company has been “blown away” by the response to the Android app and is already working on updates for both apps. Levy said these updates will bring an even deeper level of multi-game coverage but didn’t offer any other details beyond that.
Visually, the app is very similar across both platforms, so you shouldn’t notice too much of a difference if you’ve already played with the Android version. Though more games are coming, the app currently features stats and coverage on League of Legends (North American, Korean, European, and Chinese leagues) as well as Dota 2, Counter-Strike: GO, Call of Duty, StarCraft II, and Hearthstone.
