Whether the next HTC flagship is called the One M9 or something else entirely, we have a pretty good idea of its specs and what it will look like.
But one thing we weren’t sure about was whether the company would be launching a smartwatch, likely an Android Wear device to take on Samsung, LG and Sony, but now we do.
According to Bloomberg, HTC will announce a smartwatch at MWC alongside its new high-end smartphone. Details are scarce, but you can expect an industry-leading screen and a metal build, based on its efforts to differentiate itself in the smartphone space.
As for the One M9 itself, Bloomberg confirmed what we already know: it will be similar in size to the M8, with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip, a 20MP rear camera and an UltraPixel front-facing camera. That it will come in gold, silver and grey is no surprise either, since it will likely sport a unibody aluminum design. Other leaks have led us to believe the One M9, codenamed Hima, will come with a 5-inch 1080 display like its predecessor, and Android 5.0 Lollipop with Sense 7.
Bloomberg also noted that HTC’s recent partnership with Under Armour’s new fitness platform will be expanded .
HTC recently teased its new smartphone with the tagline, “Utopia in Progress.” Only a month and a week left.
