Gmail, likely the most-used pre-installed Android app, is set to receive a nice redesign when Lollipop launches next month.
Google has slowly been rolling out redesigns to its first-party app library, from Newsstand to Chrome to Google+ to the Play Store, and Gmail appears next on the list.
In addition to a colourful redesign, Gmail for Android is set to begin supporting email accounts from other networks like Yahoo and Outlook, something that users have required third-party applications to take advantage of until now.
It’s unclear whether Google plans to wait until Lollipop begins hitting devices to offer the new version of Gmail, but we’ll let you know if a leaked APK makes its way to the ‘net before then.
