Security feature Knock Code comes to LG G2 via small update

The LG G2 received a small update to build D803x20f today, adding a feature that was teased last month during the rollout to Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Knock Code, a feature announced during the launch of the G Pro 2, has made it to the Canadian version of the LG G2 across all carriers. An evolution of KnockOn, the ability to double-tap to wake the G2’s screen, Knock Code bypasses the lockscreen entirely with a correct combination of user-defined taps.

Knock Code replaces the standard security screen, using a defined area of four boxes to create a “password” two to eight taps long. The longer the password, obviously, the more secure the device. Knock Code can be accessed when the screen is turned on as well, in order to access lock screen widgets, for example, but it’s best employed when used to quickly access the home screen or an open app.

The new build also updates a number of LG’s apps.
