Checkout 51 surpasses 500,000 users, declares they’ve ‘saved more than $2,000,000 on groceries’

Checkout 51, the grocery app that saves you money through digital coupons, has announced today that they’ve crossed over the 500,000 downloads mark.

In an mass email to its users, Checkout 51 stated that since launching 10 months ago users have “have saved more than $2,000,000 on groceries.” This brings the total savings per user to about $4. Certainly not the hugest amount of savings, but the money is better off in your pocket than the grocery store.

Customers are getting savvy and showrooming items before purchasing. This coming holiday will see more retailers use digital coupons and on-the-spot price matching, namely Chapters/Indigo and Walmart.
