Wow, Rovio must be rolling in the dough. The company has just announced that their massive one-hit wonder Angry Birds game has passed the half-billion download mark, that 500,000,000. It was just a couple weeks ago that they announced crossing over the 400 million mark – so they are continuing to bring in huge numbers. The app is available on basically every mobile platform, except on BlackBerry smartphones.
The above video sheds light on some of the Angry Birds highlights: #1 in 79 countries, 266 billion levels played, 400 billion birds shot, 44 billion stars collected and 300 million minutes played daily.
It’s estimated that the Espoo, Finland-based Rovio Entertainment is worth over $1.3 billion.
