Over the past 3 months MTS had many accomplishments: successfully launching their “4G” network (now reaches 97% of Manitobans) and also brought on a bunch on new handsets that included various BlackBerry devices and the Apple iPhone. Today they announced their Q2 results and proudly increased their wireless subscriber base by about 20,000 (4.3%) to reach 489,722 subscribers. In Q2 MTS also increased wireless revenue by 8.9% to $88 million, ARPU increased by 3.8% to $59.36 and data revenue soared by 45.5%. “In the second quarter, two thirds of gross additions signed up for a data plan which bodes well for continuing strong growth in wireless data revenues.”
