Bell has exclusively released their heavy duty CDMA “Mobile Worker” device, the Motorola ES400. This Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA) has a 600 MHz processor that operates on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Professional, push e-mail and a biometric fingerprint reader, a 3-inch touchscreen display (resolution of 640 x 480), full QWERTY keyboard, holds up to 32GB with a microSD, GPS, WiFi and a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus. In the internal doc we received Bell describes says the “ES400 combines all the tools businesses need to get their jobs done anywhere. From data capture of bar codes to email access to the extended battery life”. Clearly this device is not targeted to a specialized market, not for mass consumers.
Overall dimensions are 129 x 60.4 x 16.4 mm and weighs 156 grams. As for the price, only a no-contact is available and it’s for $649.95. Depending on how many you need you could negotiate this price down a bit.
