Nike released their Nike+ GPS App for iPhone about a month ago and now version 2.0 is available and brings a Facebook component called “Cheer Me On”. The app already allows you to record your running information such as distance, pace, route and the ability to choose motivational songs. With “Cheer Me On” it reaches out to your Facebook contacts for a bit more motivation. When you activate the “Get Cheers” option you’ll update your Facebook profile to state “Cheer me on with a comment and I’ll get it on the run”. Once people comment you’ll be able to view their words of wisdom to keep you moving forward… when your run is completed a message will populate the Facebook contacts who encouraged you with the distance, pace and a thank you message.
