This has got to be one of the craziest “texting while driving” videos. Take a look at this video and I can now understand why the Ontario government joined Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador to ban cell phone use while driving (except with the use of Bluetooth or other hands free devices).
San Antonio bus driver Adrian Perez was chugging along the highway and decided to take his eyes off the road and send some text messages. The only problem was that the traffic came to a complete stop in from of him. Noboby in other vehicles were seriously injured and Perez was given his pink slip. Check out the video here
The Ontario ban is expected to be law this fall and it’s estimated that if you’re caught talking, e-mailing or sending text messages you could be fined up to $500. Also, if you put others in danger, you could be fined up to $1,000, lose six demerit points, get your driver’s licence suspension and possibly serve jail time.
