Rogers Bank is making some pretty big changes to its Credit Card Account (Rogers Red Mastercard), and customers are not happy about it.
Rogers Bank is replacing the 1.5x cash back rewards redemption for eligible Rogers purchases with the ability to earn five per cent cash back rewards on eligible Rogers purchases. This change will come into effect on November 18, 2026.
This means that for every one dollar of an eligible Rogers purchase made with your account, you’ll earn $0.5 in cash back rewards. Examples of these purchases include a Rogers, Fido or Shaw bill for a monthly post-paid phone plan or products you buy from Rogers or Fido’s website.

Starting November 18, 2026, all cash back rewards will be valued at a redemption rate of 1 point per $0.01 when you redeem it for eligible purchases. It will apply even if the transaction is posted to your account before the effective date.
Customers have hit Reddit to complain about the change.

The company is also replacing the Roam Like Home days benefit with an annual “roaming credit” that can be used for eligible Rogers roaming mobile services, and this change will go into effect on January 12, 2027.
You also lose some savings with this new roaming credit, although people seem less bothered by this change.
