DoorDash has released its 2025 Delivery Trends Report, finding that more and more people multitask while eating.

The trends report is a survey conducted by DoorDash to find the latest consumer trends in dining and delivery for that year.

The trend report for 2025 found that only about 3 per cent of Canadians give their full attention to eating their food. Multitasking has become the norm, as the survey found that most consumers now participate in various activities while they eat.

The top five activities are watching videos, either on TV or online, making up 77 per cent of Canadian consumers, talking with their family or friends which makes up 47 per cent, scrolling on their phones at 36 per cent, listening to audios like music or podcasts at 27 per cent and video games making up 20 per cent.

The report also finds that 96 per cent of consumers have ordered delivery to satisfy cravings, and 76 per cent consider it a form of self-care.

This report shows how consumers have converted meals into curated experiences, where delivery is not just about self-care and self-indulgence but also about the experience you can enjoy while eating.
