Telus-owned Public Mobile has tweaked its plans slightly, adding new features and Canada/U.S. calling, texting and data to some plans.
First up, Public added Canada/U.S. calling, texting and data use to its $30/20GB 4G plan. This is a significant value-add given how expensive roaming prices can be — frequent travellers to the U.S. will see the most benefit here.
Public’s $35 plan has also changed, going from a Canada-only 60Gb 4G plan to a Canada/U.S. plan with 50GB of 4G data.
The rest of Public’s plans remain unchanged, though notably all of the provider’s plans priced at $30 or more sport a label saying they end on September 30th. It’s not clear if just parts of the plans will change, such as the Canada/U.S. offering or the bonus long-distance minutes, or if there’s a larger overhaul in the works. Regardless, if one of Public’s plans interests you, you may want to pick it up before the 30th, as there’s no guarantee that Public will continue offering that plan after that date.
