Testing Apple Intelligence in Canada gets easier with iOS 18.1 Developer Beta 3

This change will make it a lot easier for users around the world to test the new features once the new iPhone 16s come out

One notable feature we didn’t notice in yesterday’s iOS 18 Developer Beta release is that people outside the U.S. can easily test out Apple Intelligence now.

Previously, you needed to go into your iPhone’s region settings and set that as the United States to get access to the smarter digital assistant features, but now you can leave your region set to Canada and change your Siri voice to ‘English (United States)’ to get access to the new AI features if you have an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max.

You can still use non-Siri AI features like Rewrites and the new Photos Cleanup tool with your region set to Canada as well. This should also work on iPadOS 18.1 beta 3.

This is a great change and should make it a lot easier for Canadians to test out the latest Siri features without having to set their iPhone region to U.S.

You can learn more about the Apple Developer Beta program on Apple’s website, but we don’t recommend installing it on your main device.
