Carriers have been slow to open up their networks — and their minds — to unlimited data plans. In the meanwhile, American search giant Google has a solution for those users especially concerned about conserving their data use.
Datally (pronounced day-tally, like a tally of data) is an Android app that provides a clear picture of how much data is being consumed by your phone, while simultaneously providing a breakdown of which specific apps are consuming how much data.
It’s sort of like an extension of Android’s existing data management tools, with a number of extra features built in.
For instance, Datally can be limit how much data individual apps use, provide an extensive snapshot of data usage over the course of several weeks and several months, and even help users find safe and secure Wi-Fi hotspots based on individual user reviews.
