ATB Financial has officially launched its Facebook Messenger chatbot, following a beta phase that began in February this year.
The bank’s approximately 700,000 customers can now use the brand’s Facebook Messenger chatbot to pay bills, view account balances, send Interac e-Transfers or transfer money between accounts and perform cross-currency money movement.
The chatbot can also provide spending insights, offer access to a customer care representative and deliver Mastercard statement alerts.
The bot was developed in partnership with Vancouver-based financial technology startup Finn.ai.
At the time of its beta roll-out, ATB Financial informed MobileSyrup it would add financial management features to the bot, so that users can check their food expenses in a given month, for example.
ATB and Finn.ai also stated at the time of the beta launch that there were plans to roll out the chatbot to other platforms, such as WhatsApp and SMS.
To access the chatbot, customers can search @ATBFinancial in Facebook Messenger or launch the conversation from facebook.com/ATBFinancial.
