Nintendo Switch ad shows off its best feature: playing games in the bathroom

Nintendo’s latest 30-second TV spot for the Nintendo Switch, the company’s upcoming hybrid handheld-home console, shows off Mario Kart 8 Deluxe racer, as well as arguably the system’s top feature: playing games in the bathroom.

The player in the ad is sitting on the toilet, presumably doing a number 2, while playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The upgraded version of the Wii U version of Mario Kart is set to launch on April 28th, shortly after the launch of the console on March 3rd.

While the Wii U’s tablet could also be moved and used around the house, distance and closed doors quickly become an issue. Of course, avid bathroom gamers have also been taking various versions of Nintendo’s Game Boy into the bathroom for years. Beyond a gaming-capable PC, however, the Nintendo Switch marks the first time people will be able to truly bring the traditional console experience anywhere.

Of course, the ad also shows trendy looking young people playing games in a variety of other locations, including a lecture hall and living room, but we can all identify the advertisement’s true highlight.
