During the keynote presentation of Apple’s September “See you on the 7th” event, CEO Tim Cook stated the Apple Watch, its first wearable, has become the world’s best-selling smartwatch. Unfortunately, numbers were not released. However, for those eager to purchase the second-generation smartwatch can now do so as the company has opened up pre-orders to Canadians.
Apple Watch Series 2 and the Apple Watch Nike+ Series 2 are now available to pre-order. The smartwatch will officially be available to all on September 16th, while the Nike+ Series 2 will arrive in October.
The design resembles the original as it’s square in shape, comes running watchOS 3, powered by a dual-core S2 processor, 50 percent faster cores, 100 percent better GPU and a 1000 nit display, is water resistant for up to 50 meters, features built-in GPS.
Apple Watch Series 2 pricing starts at $489 CAD for the gold, rose gold, silver or space grey aluminum, or silver or space black stainless steel. In addition, a new ceramic Apple Watch Edition is available for $1649 CAD.
The Apple Watch Nike+ Series 2 is priced at $489 for the 38mm and in 42mm at $529, and comes in in Black/Volt, Black/Cool Grey, Flat Silver/White and Flat Silver/Volt.
