Communication is a vital part of life, and Skype has been connecting people over the internet for 10 years now. Earlier this week we wrote about an update set to come out in a few weeks enabling free group calling in Skype via the service’s various mobile apps. In the meantime, Microsoft seems to be getting ready for this important update.
Yesterday, Outlook for iOS was updated with the ability to add a Skype calls to any event. This means that instead of having to open Skype and add individual people to a call, users are now able to send out meeting invitations with a direct link to Skype. Participants in the call can click join when the meeting starts, or follow the link to join on the web.
It’s nice to see Skype taking steps to improve functionality across Microsoft’s various platforms, as well as to see modern features integrated into its suite of apps.
