Drake and The Weeknd are Spotify’s most-streamed artists of 2015

The #6god, Toronto’s very own Drake, is Spotify’s most-streamed artist of 2015.

Spotify users played the music of the former Degrassi star more than 1.8-billion times in 2015. Hotline Bling, a song that became Drake’s highest chart topping single in two years, was streamed more than 210,000 times. In claiming the top spot, Dizzy beat out artists like Ed Sheeran (last year’s most streamed artist), Maroon 5 and Kanye West.

Frequent collaborator and fellow Torontonian The Weeknd also did well on the list. His latest album, Beauty Behind the Madness, beat out Drake’s own If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late as 2015’s most streamed album.
