Redesigned Google+ app is beginning to rollout on Android

Google+ Redesign

After detailing its new design for Google+ yesterday, Google has begun rolling out an update to the social network’s accompanying Android app that enables the new user interface.

Version 6.8 of Google+ is now showing up for some people on the Google Play Store. Not only does the new user interface shift the focus of the app to Google+’s well-regarded Collections and Communities features, it adds proper a slide-out navigation menu to the app, as well as a tab bar at the bottom of the screen that simplifies navigation.

If the update isn’t showing up for you on the Play Store yet, you can check it out by side loading the app’s APK, which is available through APK Mirror.

Note, though, that even after downloading the new version of Google+ it make take a while before you’re able to see the new interface, as it looks like Google is enabling the redesign server-side.
