Telus Samsung Galaxy S6 edge receiving Android 5.1.1 update with Apps edge feature

As with its regular S6 counterpart, Telus’s Samsung Galaxy S6 edge has begun receiving Android 5.1.1 as an over-the-air update.

Along with a number of “new and / or enhanced features” that we know to be a summation of improvements within Android 5.1.1 itself, Samsung has brought the popular Apps edge feature from its larger Galaxy S6 edge+ to its 5.1-inch S6 edge.

The upside is that along with being able to swipe from the right or left side of the screen within any app to quickly get in touch with one of five favourite contacts, the new Apps edge screen localizes five favourite applications to easy perusal from anywhere in the operating system.

The various other updates amount to performance improvements and bug fixes. If you notice any other new features, please let us know in the comments.
