After a significant wait, Starbucks has at long last updated the Android version of its mobile app with a fresh coat of Material Design-inspired paint. And while I don’t drink coffee, I will say that the company’s developers did a great job; the app perfectly blends the company’s signature brand with Google’s design aesthetic.
Unfortunately, the update doesn’t bring with it support for the company’s Mobile Order & Pay service, which is still limited to the iOS version of the app and only available in the United States. The functionality allows customers to order a drink ahead of time, pay for it and then pick it up when they arrive at their local Starbucks. The Seattle-based company started piloting Pay & Order last December in Portland, Oregon, and plans to start rolling out the service in Canada sometime this year.
Download the Starbucks Android mobile app from the Play Store.
Correction: an earlier version of this story mistakenly said Starbucks was already rolling out Pay & Order in Canada.
