Wind Mobile has announced that it has hired Glen Campbell (not to be confused with the musician that sang Rhinestone Cowboy), as its new chief commercial officer. Campbell will be responsible for implementing the carrier’s wireless strategy, as well as overseeing its distribution, marketing, brand, communications and customer care operations.
He will be reporting directly to CEO Alec Krstajic, who was previously at Public Mobile.
Campbell stated, “I am really pleased to be joining WIND Mobile at this exciting stage in its development. WIND has carved out an important position within the Canadian wireless marketplace providing affordable, unlimited wireless service to consumers.”
Wind Mobile currently has over 800,000 wireless subscribers. The company’s recent spectrum acquisition from the Rogers and Mobility deal, promoted Krstajic to say, “Wind is now the master of its own destiny… The foundations of being a solid wireless player is having a solid network, and right now what’s more important than having an LTE network is having capacity.”
